SMM, May 29:
This week, graphitisation prices have seen a slight decline. From the perspective of supply and demand, the growth in orders for graphitisation tolling services has been sluggish, making it difficult to effectively absorb overcapacity. Meanwhile, the production costs of graphitisation tolling services have decreased due to lower electricity tariffs. Against this backdrop, anode enterprises' sentiment to drive down prices has gradually emerged. With multiple factors at play, graphitisation tolling prices have seen a slight decline this week.
Looking ahead, during the 90-day waiting period for tariff policies, overseas terminals and battery cell enterprises may initiate an installation rush. However, with the conclusion of mandatory energy storage allocation and auto sales, the increase in production schedules for domestic anode material enterprises will be limited. On the supply side, the overcapacity situation is unlikely to be reversed. On the cost side, costs may be further controlled due to the gradual emergence of economies of scale and lower electricity tariffs. Therefore, it is expected that graphitisation tolling prices will continue to face downward pressure.
